Rotational Moulding Machine and Tooling
Strong Design was asked to analyse manufacturing options and financial implications of a current product made for the overseas client. Investigation showed the company was ‘shipping too much air’ and should move manufacture in-house in Australia to remain competitive.
Strong Design had forecast in-house product costing, machine and commissioning costings and from these reports Strong Design was asked to project manage and create a new in-house production process.
The solution, a plastic rotational moulding department, included sourcing and freight of machinery, freight of tooling from the old supplier, commissioning the machinery and tooling in Brisbane before training local staff to start production. This project was completed on time and under budget with an impressive project capital return of 9 weeks.
